DID YOU KNOW?
Equal Pay Day symbolizes how far
into the year a woman must work,
on average, to earn as much as her
male counterparts did during the
previous year. Red is worn on this
day as a symbol of how far women
are “in the red” with regard to pay.
Black women need to work more
than 66 years to earn what a white,
non-Hispanic man earns in 40
years in the same career.
Latinas typically earn 0.55 cents
for every dollar earned by white,
non-Hispanic men and must work
nearly 23 months to earn what
white men earn in 12 months.
